It has been widely accepted by the Labour Court and the CCMA that polygraph testing in the workplace is highly contentious and the admissibility of its results remains debateable. Does this mean that an employer cannot use polygraph testing?

Twee van ons Direkteure het aan die Karoo to Coast bergfietsresies deelgeneem. Op 30 September het ons saam met die inwoners van Silwerkruin deur die strate gestap, ter ondersteuning van die Week vir Bejaardes. Ons nuwe kantore te Somerset-Wes is ingewy. Ons het ‘n nuwe spanlid welkom geheet en ons gaan een spanlid groet. Oktober is borskankerbewusmakingsmaand. Die nuwe ouers is met ‘n geskenkie bederf.

Twee van ons Direkteure was die sprekers by ‘n SAICA Discussion Group. FHBC is deur SAIT geakkrediteer om Tax Technicians op te lei. Een van ons Direkteure is as Tentmaker Diensleraar bevestig. Ons het vier nuwelinge welkom geheet, ons het die koms van die lente gevier, aan Loslitdag deelgeneem, en die Sekretaresses bederf. Verder het die Fidusiêre span, as deel van Testamenteweek, aan ons personeel die geleentheid gebied om hul testamente gratis op te stel. ‘n Ander Direkteur het aan die Cape Pioneer Trek mountain bike race deelgeneem. Gedurende die laaste week in September neem ons deel aan die Week vir Bejaardes.

EMPLOYMENT EQUITY AMENDMENTS TO COME INTO OPERATION ON 1 SEPTEMBER 2023 – WHAT EMPLOYERS NEED TO KNOW

The amended Employment Equity (EE) Act of 1998 will empower the Employment and Labour Minister to regulate sector specific EE targets and to regulate compliance criteria to issue an EE Compliance Certificate in terms of Section 53 of the EE Act. The amended Act will come into force on 1 September 2023. Employers, who will no longer be defined as a designated employer, can apply to deregister from the EE Public Register.
