Jacobus matriculated at High School Secunda. He obtained his Baccalaureus in Accounting (B-Acc) degree from the University of the Free State and completed his SAICA articles at PKF Chartered Accountants & business advisers in Bloemfontein. He is currently a member of the South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA), the South-African Institute of Tax Practitioners (SAIT) and the South African Institute of Business Accountants (SAIBA). Jacobus is married to Yolandé and they have two daughters.
